VaniTea herbal formula now available at Natural Mystic!

Our newest tea blend has now become available! Vanitea, a blend of: White Tea, Red Rooibos, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Schizandra Berry, Goji Berry, Red Clover, Rose Hips & Petals was formulated to assist in the bodies detoxification process in order to prevent the excretion of accumulated toxins through the epidermis. While doing so, other herbal compounds are hard at work restoring damaged tissue while promoting healthier, more youthful & radiant skin. The strongest notes in this blend are the amazing Schizandra Berry's tartness as well as the smooth mild flavor of Rooibos with subtler hints of Rose Petal and Goji sweetness. We left the stevia leaf out of the formula but I, Edward, recommend adding a leaf or two for sweetness while Ginny prefers it straight up. It's now her all time favorite blend! I can dig it but nothing surpasses the AdaptiviTea for me..Below is a brief description of each one of the herbs included in this formula and how proper body detoxification leads to healthier skin.

Our skin is the largest organ of the body, and is one of the primary routes of detoxification. While not always profuse, water and toxins are contiually released through the skin via sweat. If your other detoxifying systems, namely the liver and kidneys, are not removing chemicals and toxins as they should, the skin becomes distressed. If your skin becomes overburdened, breakouts may occur. A poor complexion can also be the result of hormonal fluctuations and stress.

The liver is another major route of detoxification in our bodies. If liver function is depressed, toxins are not properly filtered out and can remain in our blood, leading to physical manifestations such as skin breakouts, eczema and a poor complexion.

The isoflavones in Red Clover potentially up-regulate liver detoxification by increasing bile acid flow, thereby aiding digestion, purifying the blood and clearing the complexion.

Burdock root is a very effective remedy when it comes to managing or treating chronic skin problems. For instance, its detoxifying effect, and increased blood circulation to the epidermal tissues helps to destroy fungus, and bacterial cultures present under your skin. This helps you to prevent or cure serious skin disorders such as boils, carbuncles, psoriasis, and even acne. It can also help you to manage ailments such as eczema in a safe and natural way.

Burdock also has ample amounts of vitamin C. This nutrient is potent skin cleanser that helps to restore scaly skin and for managing skin ulcers. Finally, if you have a rough and or oily skin, a burdock root remedy can help your smooth your skin, have a clear complexion and, regain your youthful look. It directly affects the sebaceous glands on your skin, enhances proper flow of sebum, and therefore, protects your skin from harsh environmental conditions.

Like Burdock, Dandelion Root helps the body dispose of unwanted skin bacteria. It also stimulates digestion and supports the liver - the major organ that helps rid the body of toxins and excess hormones, including the androgens that trigger acne breakouts.

Recent research shows that white tea has even more health benefits than black or green tea. According to a recent lab study, extracts in white tea exert an anti-inflammatory effect that slows the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers -- those super-supportive intracellular structures that skin needs to stay firm and wrinkle-free. In the cell study, the wrinkle-fighting effects of white tea extracts showed lots of promise. White tea exhibited almost 90 percent more collagen- and elastin-protective activity than the control did. Science Daily reported on the findings of a study at Case Western Reserve University, showing that the anti-oxidants in white tea can help your skin's immune system, acting to prevent and even repair sun damage. It seems that it can also fight skin cancer, wrinkles, and skin discoloration.

Another way to help keep your skin stay healthy from the inside out is by drinking organic Red Rooibos tea iced, or hot throughout my day. Red Rooibos, an herb from South Africa, has been used for centuries to help keep the skin radiant and beautiful. The herb contains an abundant amount of nutrients in it that are beneficial to the skins health such as phenolic compounds, flavonoids, alpha-hydroxy acids, zinc, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, copper, fluoride and manganese. The herb also has many medicinal properties in it as well such as anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-septic, anti-viral and anti-mutagenic, which are all excellent for treating skin discomforts such as sunburns, acne, and rashes.

Drinking rose hip tea daily will also benefit your skin. Rose hips have a high vitamin A content. Vitamin A is commonly referred to as the "skin vitamin". It helps to regenerate skin cells, healing wounds and scars. It also helps to keep the skin elastic and nourished. This will not only prevent wrinkles, but can actually help to minimize any that have already appeared. Rose Hips contain Bioflavanoids that maintain healthy capillaries throughout the body. With the benefits of Bioflavanoids plus the many other nutrients, Rose Hips are a wonderful addition to your diet as well as beauty regime.

Sweetness and spiciness are yang while sourness, saltiness and bitterness are yin. It is therefore very important that in our daily diet, we consume all five flavors in a balanced fashion. One should not skip any flavor. Otherwise, imbalances will arise and certain organs may not be nourished properly. All herbs contain at least one of the five flavors. Remarkably, Schizandra fruit contains all five flavors.

Schizandra is widely used to beautify the skin and to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun and wind. Due to the astringent quality of Schizandra, the skin tends to hold its moisture and becomes full and beautiful. It has always been very popular with the wealthy men and women of China, especially the women of the imperial court, because of its youth preserving and rejuvenating effects. It is said that those who use Schizandra consistently will remain youthful in both appearance and physiology. People who start taking Schizandra regularly all change for the better. Their skin virtually glows and becomes clear and fine after several months.

The goji berry contains numerous antioxidant phytochemicals with potential health benefits. It is rich in the carotenoids: beta-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin and lycopene. Goji berries contain 18 amino acids, including the 8 essential amino acids; 21 trace minerals, including zinc, iron, calcium, selenium and phosphorus, and an array of B vitamins. Other nutrients in goji berries include 5 unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, 11 essential and 22 trace dietary minerals. They are also an excellent source of dietary fiber. Ounce for ounce, the goji berry has more vitamin C than oranges, more beta carotene than carrots and more iron than steak. These berries are also a rich source of vitamin C and zinc, both of which are known to protect against disease and aid in recovery from illness. A 3-ounce serving of dried goji berries contains 1,600mg. of potassium — four times the potassium in bananas. The goji berry contains fatty acids, which can stimulate collagen production and retain moisture, resulting in younger-looking skin.
